Mothers’ Day is coming up this weekend and there is nothing this mum loves more than a lovely cake treat. Copenhagen has a wonderful selection of places to treat that special mummy to delectable cakes.

First up is my favourite cupcake cafe in Copenhagen (and maybe the world!), Serenity Cupcakes. The feminine interior is perfect for Mothers’ Day and the cakes served in Royal Copenhagen china make it the luxury experience.Another lovely choice is the Royal Smushi cafe next to Royal Copenhagen shop on Amagertorv. The selection of cakes here regularly change but they are always delicious and beautiful, not to mention the fabulous interior and the sun trap outside eating space.

Finally is a new discovery for me although they are very popular with the cake eating aficionados of Copenhagen, is Strangas. This is the place for the best macarons in town. Delicate colours and subtle flavours and the best texture I have ever tasted.
