One of the few things I miss about living in the UK is browsing in independent book shops. There are great book shops here in Copenhagen but whilst I can speak and read Danish, I would find reading a novel in Danish a challenge, so Books & Company in Hellerup is heaven for me.
Isabella, the owner, chooses an amazing selection of books, for adults and children, and the non fiction section, especially the cookbooks, is great. The staff are helpful and passionate about books. I always see books here I haven’t seen before but immediately draw me in.
The bookshop has a lovely atmosphere. You can buy a fresh cup of coffee and browse for hours. There are comfy seats and the back of the shop is a real sun trap. They have free Wifi
They also have an interesting programme of talks and events including a book club, so check out their website for the latest information.
