A Dejlige Days book?

CIMG6662They say that everyone has a book in them, which is probably true but whether it is any good is another matter. I have been working on a book about my expat experiences for the best part of four years. It started as more of a how to guide but I am inspired, by other successful bloggers turned authors and also by the reaction from readers here to my more personal posts, to make it a bit more of a personal journey but also a resource to help others either thinking of relocating or in the process. In response to one reader who asked when was I ever not positive, he will have an enlightening moment in the chapters about relocation to Berlin!

This book is cursed but I am sticking with it. Every time I get the draft out to work on or even start thinking about it, something happens that pushes it back. My son went down with chicken pox, I fell ill with a serious chest infection and more recently I started thinking about it again in January and regular readers will know what happened then!  But the sun is out and I am feeling more normal so I have decided to tempt fate and start work on it again. It is at a stage where I either put up or shut up.

I flatter myself thinking that people will want to read it but I am this far down the line that it seems a waste not to do something with it. If you think you might possibly be interested in it you can sign up here to be the first to hear more news. I am still thinking how to publish it but I guess a first proper draft is the way forward.

Now this is posted I can’t back out now, can I?!

  1. Yes, do it! I’ve been working on three books (a novel, a cook book and, of course, a book about museums) for the better part of ten years and will probably never finish any of them…

  2. After all these problems, that book must be great! And look at it this way, you will have great stories to tell during your book tour!!

  3. Hahaha, there’s nothing like a blog post to make you feel committed to something 😉 I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you can work on your draft this time without any serious mishaps!
