In our last apartment we were lucky enough to have a lovely backyard with a table and chairs, plants and space to grow herbs and small pot plants. In our current place our backyard is very functional – a home for bikes and bins, which is very often the case. So you need to create your own garden. Recently I discovered a little enclosed space behind our building with a weathered picnic table, pot plants and a little rabbit hutch. After some investigation I learned that this was a space for anyone to use with respect. I think that technically it is for the adjacent apartments but it is rarely used.So on one of the recent hot mornings I decided to make my own little garden there and enjoy a nice cold homemade elderflower cordial drink and pretend that is was my little oasis for the morning. If we were staying in this apartment for longer I would think about using this space to grow a few herbs and tomato plants and enjoy my own pretend garden for a while. It was lovely.
I made my elderflower cordial using this recipe and the moonshine jars and straws are from here.
