After a week at preschool, my son came home and asked me who Karen Blixen was. This took me by surprise but I like to fuel his interests and answer his questions so the obvious day trip for us was a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum in Rungsted. It is easy to get to by train from central Copenhagen.
We chose to take the train and bus on our way there and were rewarded with amazing views of the coast and also the multi million pound houses along this beautiful bit of sea. It is popular with footballers and politicians and you can see why.
The museum is an interesting way to learn more about Karen Blixen and her life. She is a major figure here in Denmark so it seems important to understand more about her and her literary career. You probably wouldn’t spent more than an hour in the house but the gardens (which are free to visit) are the best part of the museum.
I’ve always wanted to visit this! I must go I find her life so inspiring and interesting!
It is such a peaceful place and the museum is really fascinating.
