Kastellet or Citadel was founded in the 17th century and is a military barracks and a wonderful place to enjoy fresh air and greenery in central Copenhagen. I have probably only walked around this area a couple of times but as it is now so close to our home in Østerbro, it will definitely become a green walk of choice. Sunday was a strange day weatherwise starting in the early hours with heavy rain followed by blue skies after sunrise and then clouding over later in the morning. Nevertheless it was a great morning to enjoy the autumn greens and reds of Kastellet. Can you believe this place is virtually in the city centre?
