On the 30th of August a new recreational area in the harbour opposite Islands Brygge was opened. It is a called Kalvebod Bølge, which means Kalvebod Waves and is part of a wider development programme of the harbour and nearby city areas.
It is an area for watersports and also just sunbathing and relaxing. I wasn’t aware of it until I was taking a Sunday walk around the harbour last month to capture some new images of the city.
In these photos it wasn’t fully completed but was a fantastic place to walk along, almost giving the feeling of walking on the water. I am sure I will be back now it is fully opened.
The views both ways along the harbour were breathtaking. I was surprised at how much development of this area had taken place in the 18 months I was away from the city but also how great it looks.
