Wefood – Denmark’s first supermarket selling surplus food

Yesterday I went along to the opening of Wefood on Amagerbrogade. Wefood is Denmark’s first supermarket selling surplus food and was officially inaugurated by Princess Marie and the minister for food and the environment, Eva Kjer Hansen. It is also thought to be the first of its kind in the world as it isn’t just aimed at low-income shoppers but is a supermarket for anyone who is concerned about the issue of food waste. You can read more about the opening in my article on The Local here.DSC01610 DSC01616 DSC01617 IMG_3912

  1. A great article! I am curious to learn more about how they will control quality, but fascinating idea that I hope will do great things!
